James 4:14 Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.

Re: Our dog passed away in 24 hours

Sorry for the loss of your beloved family member......

    The Rainbow Bridge

By the edge of a woods, at the foot of a hill,

Is a lush, green meadow where time stands still.

Where the friends of man and woman do run,

When their time on earth is over and done.

For here, between this world and the next,

Is a place where each beloved creature finds rest.

On this golden land, they wait and they play,

Till the Rainbow Bridge they cross over one day.

No more do they suffer, in pain or in sadness,

For here they are whole, their lives filled with gladness.

Their limbs are restored, their health renewed,

Their bodies have healed, with strength imbued.

They romp through the grass, without even a care,

Until one day they start, and sniff at the air.

All ears prick forward, eyes dart front and back,

Then all of a sudden, one breaks from the pack.

    For just at that instant, their eyes have met;

Together again, both person and pet.

So they run to each other, these friends from long past,

The time of their parting is over at last.

The sadness they felt while they were apart,

Has turned into joy once more in each heart.

They embrace with a love that will last forever,

And then, side-by-side, they cross over… together

I'm sorry for your loss Old Steel, they truly are more than just animals; they don't ever bitch you out or talk back like humans, they are the truest definition of dedication, courage and loyalty IMO. Any pics? It may seem kinda wrong to say this, but DO try to find another good dog to help you, otherwise you might dwell on his loss too long(take into consideration the breed for your needs/llife expec/etc.)..Hopefully time will heal your wound, bud.
Im not sure if you guys have heard the story of DUKEY, awesome rescue dog that at least spent the best last 3yrs of his life(warning tear jerker, Old Steel please bypass this one):

I've grown too attached to my mom's dog he is also 15, he still looks strong, but does get fatigued with much shorter walks now and starting heavy breathing. I can't imagine when we will have to say our goodbyes. Part chihuahua, the other part either Jack Russel or Rat terrier (about 20lbs.). Whereas most Chi'huas are annoying little shits, this little fella has always been real quite since the litter(that's why we picked him-only one that showed a restraint), but when he senses a threat or someone close to the home he has a deep bark like a G.Shepperd, seriously. Three times as big as a turd tea-cup chi'hua...Handsome little devil(we don't usually "dress" him up, pic on the left was from last winter, we had just brought him inside).
