I suppose one could argue that gravity prevents that from happening...

Anyway it looks like a spiral galaxy, and that is where the electrical vortex theory making far more sense in throwing stars out of the center of galaxy, after combining protons and electrons drawn in from plasma clouds in space in the center of the vortex. Instead of having a supermassive black hole pulling everything in, and you don't have to invent a bunch of nonsense like dark matter and dark energy to explain how it is all connected...

Irving Langmuir coined the phrase pathological science in a talk in 1953.

Pathological Science

Pathological science is an area of research where "people are tricked into false results ... by subjective effects, wishful thinking or threshold interactions."^[1][2] The term was first^[3] used by Irving Langmuir, Nobel Prize-winning chemist, during a 1953 colloquium at the Knolls Research Laboratory. Langmuir said a pathological science is an area of research that simply will not "go away"—long after it was given up on as "false" by the majority of scientists in the field. He called pathological science "the science of things that aren't so".^{[4][full citation needed] [5]} Bart Simon lists it among practices pretending to be science: "categories ... such as ... pseudoscience, amateur science, deviant or fraudulent science, bad science, junk science, and popular science ... pathological science, cargo-cult science, and voodoo science".^[6] Examples of pathological science may include Martian canals, N-rays, polywater, and cold fusion. The theories and conclusions behind all of these examples are currently rejected or disregarded by the majority of scientists.

Pathological science, as defined by Langmuir, is a psychological process in which a scientist, originally conforming to the scientific method, unconsciously veers from that method, and begins a pathological process of wishful data interpretation (see the observer-expectancy effect and cognitive bias). Some characteristics of pathological science are:

• The maximum effect that is observed is produced by a causative agent of barely detectable intensity, and the magnitude of the effect is substantially independent of the intensity of the cause.
  
• The effect is of a magnitude that remains close to the limit of detectability, or many measurements are necessary because of the very low statistical significance of the results.
• There are claims of great accuracy.
• Fantastic theories contrary to experience are suggested.
• Criticisms are met by ad hoc excuses.
• The ratio of supporters to critics rises and then falls gradually to oblivion.

Langmuir never intended the term to be rigorously defined; it was simply the title of his talk on some examples of "weird science". As with any attempt to define the scientific endeavor, examples and counterexamples can always be found.

Exactly, and the people who believe the flat earth diversion are the dumbest people on the planet. We don't need more of them, yet they vote and that's what TPTB want. Votes. Osoab is right though....repeat a lie long enough, it becomes a false "fact" that people believe, and they vote based upon those false facts.

Solid, the vitriol is bad stuff. F.E. really can cause some severe reactions in many. You will notice that the vast majority of F.E. debunkers on jewtube swear, throw out ad hominem attacks at every turn, and shout down any that attempt to disagree with or disrupt their prescribed "truth".

Osoab, how can a man sail around the world on an East compass heading, and end up on the same spot he started? That can't happen with a flat earth. What do flat earth believers say about compasses? Compasses are proven navigational tools, they are honest, simple and can not be corrupted. They will get you where you want to go, if you know how to use them. I figure flat earthers have never seen a damn compass in their whole life. This is why I think flat earth believers are the dumbest people around.

Solid, you can go around a "disc shape" and still head East and still have the compass point North.

I tried to disprove the crap. I couldn't. It started with the curvature formula, 8 inches per mile squared. I thought that was just complete horse hockey. I did an autocad model to true scale. Do you know what I learned? The curvature formal ain't horse hockey.

Solid, you are the perfect guy to do some curvature tests. Next time you head out to sea, make sure you bring your best binoculars. I'm talking 30 to 50 miles in distance. If the water is relatively calm, take out the binoculars and start looking back towards shore. If you know your approximate distance and elevations of local land marks, you will know if the curve is there.

Mark was challenged to give 5 questions to pose to a physicist. He reads out the 5 questions and notes that no answer was given to any of the 5. You should know that Mark Sargent has had a challenge out there for any "scientist" to debate him and prove a globe earth.

No it won’t. A lie repeated is a damn lie. The sun sets at the horizon every evening, that’s a fact, and you can see it on every cloudless day you have a clear view of the horizon. You need to disregard every knowledge of basic physics that scientists have come up with the last couple of millennia to come to the notion the earth is flat.

Not teaching kids math is a great way to stimulate nonsense like the flat earth diversion among the ignorant masses.
