First off, the IBEW was formed in St Louis, Missouri...local 1. And the guy who started the IBEW was working in the west putting up railroad telegraph lines while continental rail roads were being built. No ties to any communists. Just a electrician who was tired of not getting paid correctly and working sweat shop hours day and night (goes against your communist soviets ten planks). He wanted a fair wage and better working hours and a voice in the working arena (collective bargaining).
