$20 Pre-33 Gold coins $25 over spot!

being a cheapskate i have bought many cleaned coins you got a great deal cleaned or not

I store wealth in metals* with the same mindset as you. As close to spot as possible is my first consideration. The only coins I've been known to pay a bit more for are indeed pre-1933 gold*. I usually justify it in my mind as a 'historical significance premium'. $25 over spot/oz is a great price for pre-1933 gold!

*Of course, I lost all that in the tragic boating accident I had some time ago.....sad!

Thanks, madfranks. That was a very helpful article. I don't think my coin has been cleaned. It passes the cartwheel luster test, and it indeed looks very old. It doesn't show any signs of have been cleaned to my untrained eye. Plus, I don't think jmbullion would send out a cleaned coin advertised as AU.
