MEXICO CITY — A caravan of more than 1,000 Hondurans is winding its way toward their country’s border with Guatemala, with the goal of reaching a better life in the United States.

Dunia Montoya, a volunteer helping the migrants, said the group planned to sleep Saturday inside an auditorium in Santa Rosa de Copan, a town several hours east by car from Guatemala.

The migration began swelling spontaneously Friday after local media reported on approximately 160 migrants who had agreed to depart together for greater safety from San Pedro Sula. The aspiring migrants organized via WhatsApp chats.

“People leave Honduras every day, but this is the first time (they do it) in a public way and in a group,” Montoya said in a telephone interview from Santa Rosa de Copan.

Caravan of Hondurans

There is new news of another caravan of Hondurans heading north, across Mexico, to the United States. The last one supposedly walked an average of over 100 miles a day, baby strollers and all. So those who made it obviously did not walk. That's not the point with this caravan however, because they might actually be walking, might not, who knows.The big news with this new caravan, which is still in Guatemala is that Trump told Honduras that they had better stop this next caravan or all American aid to Honduras will be cut. That's good, but . . .I know a better way to stop any caravans - All you'd have to do is offer the Mexican police a $300 bribe per officer in whatever area they are in to stop them, and they would not progress even 50 feet. You'd solve the entire problem for about $10, 000!

the Mexican government (per International Banker Standards) is not nearly indebted enough to international bankers as a ratio of gdp. or Mexican .gov has far too much hidden expendable income.

Why doesn't a Honduran simply work in Mexico? Answer: Mexicans police themselves.

The United States has strongly informed the President of Honduras that if the large Caravan of people heading to the U.S. is not stopped and brought back to Honduras, no more money or aid will be given to Honduras, effective immediately!
