it's not that hard to get a glossy surface on a cast part that has no additional finish (like paint).
the trick is making sure that there are no small air-holes in the casting.
which mainly means more exactitude, more attention to detail, during the casting process.
there is also the option of plating after casting.
as far as the availability of tungsten blanks ... industrial metal supply x Big American city - not hard to get. just hard to machine & hard to cast.
