As for the nuke, I suppose it depends on the megatonnage and the depth of water. I'll bet a 1 megaton bomb detonated a mile under the water 600 miles out would not create more than an ocean wave, and certainly nothing of significance at the shore 600 miles away. But I'm going on intuition here.
