No. That would waste more power than you'd profit from.
You'd want a brand new computer that is a gaming rig setup. It's best to use graphics cards over CPU IMO.

For Bitcoin I just use blockchain.info and at the search box in the upper right hand of the corner, you put in the wallet address and it will show you how many transactions that address has had, and how much it currently holds.
Litecoin you can use the address Shami-Amourae posted. That is the GSUS LTC donation address and it does the samething as the blockchain.info but for Litecoin.
By the way. Current price of LTC is 37.18 giving you a total donation accumulation of $583.73.
