If I remember correctly Ron Paul polled high in Iowa before but got much lower figures in the caucus in both 2008 and 2012, is it a good place to destroy the people's choice?

I don't think he lost on purpose, but I also agree that he focused a significantly smaller percentage of his time in Iowa compared to most of the other candidates.
I think the big takeaway from this loss is that the Trump campaign will not trust the polls as much in the future. They will put more work and money into ground operations going forward. Previously they assumed that high poll numbers would negate the need to go through the traditional ground operations.
They just rigged the election against him, so it isn't very likely he'll become president now...
