This started as some messed up shit and now has become really fucked up. I don't understand why it continues to escalate.

It escalates because the Nevada officials and the Clark County and Nye County officials would rather get their federal bribe (grant) money,than to protect Nevada's citizens. They are all part of the Washington DC defacto municipal government running the country today.
