The news coverage of this event is typically being used by the media by scary and salacious headlines to grab and hold the attention to sell and get your dollars. There is some truth in that there is a virus and it has killed some people, maybe like 17 in China as of yesterday. I notice they are heavily lacing the stories with flashbacks to the worldwide Spanish flu epidemic in 1918 to 1920, killing 500 million people. So the media is definitely trying to scare people and move people to cling to their reporting. That moves people away from common sense thinking and precautions into crazy fear mode which is where they make their sales.
