AI Data Centers - Why?

AI Data Centers... I read what they do, how they will do it and all the power, water, space etc. that they will use.

Buy why? How are all these centers so important? I just don't get it, at all. Bitcoin mining?

What is the benefit of any of it? On X if I read any responses that include asking AI Grok anything at all get an instant block. Unless it's MSM news or medical the answers are complete fvcking garbage. That is supposed to be one of the smarter AI things, whatever you call it. Is that the type of AI this is about? I seriously doubt it lol.

I thought I have been following this crap but...

I have remained preserved in an alcohol induced slumber for the past 50ish years so perhaps I missed the memo. Not sure I will be able to continue this for another 50 years even with serious perseverance. I have questions about this AI crap that is just pushed about in the public as it is. I was going to post about this here many months ago but figured I would eventually answer my own questions, that has not happened so far.

Most any time I hit a road block it is usually something stupid that is right in front of my face, this included but just need a bump in opening my eyes, or some shyt. I do feel kinda stupid asking but figured I would give it a shot.

Any enlightenment appreciated.
