There are 38 million Afghaniis.Since 2001, the United States has spent $2.26 trillion in Afghanistan, the Costs of War Project at Brown University calculates – an investment that has yielded a chaotic, humiliating end to America's longest war.
That means $59.47 per Afghani over 20 years.
Not even 3 bucks a year per Afghani.
Now I realize wages might be a little less in that area of the world but it takes more than that to live in Haiti. It costs more than that for a NY cop to visit Starbucks.
Maybe that is why the Afghaniis went the Taliban route.
Now on the opposite side of the equation there are roughly ten times the number of Americans than Afghaniis. So that means each American would have to pony up $.30 a year for 20 years to pay for U.S. involvement in protecting Afghaniis from themselves.
You had to give up a Starbucks coffee twice in 20 years to pay for Afghanistan.
At that rate we could have financed the war for 500 years and Starbucks would not even notice the loss of revenue.
