I'm thinking that the loss of the Moskva is a pivotal event. Clearly at this point it's a NATO/Russia proxy war. The question is: did Putin set it out there as bait? The Moskva was alone without escort or cover. NATO had been tracking it and recently it had been cruising around without escort in a routine, so not hard to find and without cover.

I'm not following this closely, but it does appear Russia has lost momentum.
Not saying Russia militarily is any worse getting quagmired than the NATO and NeoCon criminals have the last several decades, but when the NeoCons do this they meant to just basically destroy the country (even as their homeland propaganda says otherwise), Ukraine being no exception for them now, and do not have to worry to the same extent about adversary NATO and NeoCons supplying sophisticated weapons, fake news western 'journalism' and willingness to horrifically and tragically work to turn any citizen in the attacked country into an potential enemy combatant, as well as being willing to propagandize, economically and otherwise degrade NATO's own countries and citizens themselves in the effort.
