It's in the tone. As Nomen said, the freedom to voice your opinion does not absolve you from being an insensitive a$$hole. The vile attacks by the minority here are not being made in a vacuum, but rather within a thread initiated by an individual who then becomes a direct target of the venom. Don't you see the difference? If you think homosexuality is a negative trait inherited at birth, then the same is true of the general human tendency to be self-centered to the point of offending others. So the attackers here are equally guilty of being unable to suppress a sinful urge.

Now with regard to Merlin, I think his participation here would be of value. However, he must be aware that in starting a thread with such a provocative opening, he was certainly opening himself up to this type of response, from both his supporters and his detractors. Saying that the ground has already been poisoned is a bit offensive to the vast majority here who don't hold such a venomous perspective. This site isn't falling apart just because one or two threads are infested with trolls and troublemakers... the site is holding it's integrity because of it's commitment to the principles that will make it great - freedom, individuality, self-determination, and the use of heavy-handed moderation ONLY when it's absolutely required due to violation of the rules that protect EVERYONE's right to express themselves here freely. Absolutely right. The deletion of TD threads is the slippery slope to censorship, it may take awhile but GSUS will turn into GIM2 in time. The reason this board is thriving is because FREE SPEECH is allowed with almost complete ABSENCE OF CENSORSHIP, just enough to keep it from descending into chaos. People need to be able to see what other members have posted. And people need to be able to see when a member has deleted his/her threads or posts. I don't think threads can be deleted by members? If so, that is GOOD. There needs to be as much transparency as technologically possible.

I also disagree that the original thread should remain in the subforum it started in (if I understood correctly), but the posters having intense disagreement are individually moved to TD with their comments. The entire thread should be moved to TD. Are we a bunch of pansies that need to have our sensibilities protected by Big Brother? Apparently it must have been a big mystery to me because I was asking the question but if you are referring to a someone making a personal attack on you on GSUS by using that reference, then I apologize for being ignorant on this. I am NOT a "nice guy joo hater" and that is why the cream cheese reference was a mystery to me. I do not know anything about "joos" to have an opinion one way or the other about them. Back on the topic of this thread, I had Merlin on my friends list back at the old site, and I harbor no ill will towards him. I don't bash gays, I don't think anyone chooses to be gay, I think it's a biological/hormonal thing. I admire Merlin for standing up for himself, which I consider to be the true measure of a man.

I am disappointed about the split of the group from the old forum, and I am beginning to think the split may be a generational thing. The baby-boomers are staying at the deuce, and the under 50 crowd is staying at GSUS.

And those here who said unseemly things and attacks on all homosexuals, that disappoints me too. Even if one's religious beliefs encourage them to condemn homosexuality, some of the things said here were a bit rude and unnecessarily crass. I doubt many of you would say that stuff face to face in real life.

One of things I liked about the old site was that the mods kept the debates civil, and since people knew this, they went along. We can hold opposing viewpoints without name calling and vitriol.

The Klan was started with noble intentions and now that their enemies totally control the media they are demonized. Now that they are demonized people want to link everything "bad" with masonry.

There is no where in the bible that states that Jew's, blacks or any other minority are inferior to the white race. In fact if one looks at who Moses married they would eat there words. Most who are members do not even believe in God or in the least, not the God of the bible. By their own words they say one must believe in God and the bible, yet there are splinter groups that are into Satanism and Witchcraft. There is a connection to the Masons as many are members of both groups. They claim they are standing for a white America while all the while showing the lost that it is ok to hate someone. No where does the bible condone hatred.

Kuklos thought about in this context simply means White Racial Brotherhood. Ku Klux was simply taken from the word kuklos and Klan was added.

Albert Pike: Chief Justice of KKK and Freemason Leader

Here we see the Ku Klux Klan's Masonic Origins. It was founded in Pulaski, Tennessee, in 1866 by 6 Confederate officers. One of them, and the first Imperial Wizard of the KKK, was a former Confederate general and Freemason, Nathan Bedford Forrest. Albert Pike held the office of Chief Justice of the KKK while he was simultaneously Sovereign Grand Commander of the Scottish Rite of Masonry, in the Southern Jurisdiction. Everywhere we turn nowadays, we are seeing the occult connection between New World Order organizations, especially in false religious denominations.

The KKK was known as the "Invisible Empire of the South." In 1869, General Forrest ordered the Empire to disband because of the extreme violence.

1915 was the rebirth of the KKK, just after the film "The rebirth of a Nation" where Klansmen were romantically portrayed as heroes who had preserved the moral fiber and character of America... this time another Mason, W. J. Simmons, was the architect. By the mid-1920s they controlled some states such as Indiana from the courthouse to the statehouse. Almost all of the top officials of the revived Klan were also Masons, with a total of 5 million members, most of them Masons and white Protestants, with several Senators and Governors.

By 1944 the KKK collapsed, in a storm of corruption, murder, rape, and torture... Today, there are a few thousand left, very divided... each one wants to be be a Grand Wizard of nothing!

A view of the KKK's "Platform" on their website shows that they are against abortion, against homosexuality, against foreign aid for other nations, they want U.S. borders guarded, public schools overhauled, the Federal Reserve Bank abolished, et cetera. These are all good things, and certainly America needs them to happen; however, the intent of the secret KKK group is to discredit those in America, mainly Christians, who believe such things.

The KKK, with their unbiblical hatred for Blacks and Jews, is well-known as a hate group, and despised by most Americans. Thus, it couldn't be more obvious to any thinking person, that the KKK is a New World Order organization, whose goal is to subvert the remaining bastions of Christianity and Patriotism in America. Any American patriot or Christian who dares take a stand against the evils in the U.S. government, is automatically associated with the platform of the KKK in an attempt to rally public condemnation against them.

Whether it be the Mormon church, the Jehovah's Witnesses, Wicca witchcraft, Scientology, or the Ku Klux Klan — we find demonic FREEMASONRY as the common denominator, and the Kabbalah as the basis of nearly every occult group.
