Normally I'm not into these 'TED talk type' lectures, but I think this one is worth watching. It does a lot to describe how revolutions occur and how the media can effectively control large populations. It also gives some interesting perspectives on one-on-one type conversations and the acrobatics we all employ over the course of communicating with someone else.

Its also quite interesting in the context of the global revolutions we're witnessing.

Here is a somewhat related but different video, on conformity. The last 3rd of the video was very interesting, starting at about 5:50. They talk about how one person repeating something has roughly the same effect as many people saying something. Also, how breakaway minority groups who don't conform to the larger masses have, themselves, conformity pressures, who effects are bad because you identify with that group.

As for Steven Pinker I highly recommend reading his books, and in particular two of them.

He's brilliant and has a knack for making an otherwise uninteresting topic extremely intrigueing and he has a sense of humour as well.

Thanks Vacuum, and that why many are against me.....I walk to the sound of my own drums.

What many think as my "ego" is really my self realization that I don't have to be part of a group in order to be somebody.......many times you have to think backwards in order to move forward.
