I finished the vid, but was turned off at about the 2 min mark, when he started ranting about Global warming, showing a Polar bear on an ice cap, and generally demonizing humans as the ultimate problem.
No mention of the CoIntelPro that was going on in the 60's, and the vietnam War protesting. Even the FBI admits that 85% of the CoIntelPro resources (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/COINTELPRO)were used on 'subversive groups (protestors), the Civil Rights movement, and almost all groups protesting the Vietnam War (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vietnam_War). The remaining 15% of resources were used on groups like the KKK, White Hate groups, and National States Rights movements.
You see the problem is reality is multi dimensional. Past historical events that have taken place have many layers of truth to them. An educated man is one who will look at all sides, analyze, criticize, compare to known conflicting facts, etc.
Some guy cant just wake up the 1st layer of this conspiracy, and think he understands what is going on. These are the exact type of people that will lead us to the next Babylon.

i wonder if the Vietnam War was a smoke-screen for Israel.
Reasons -
1/ it was launched shortly after the assassination of JFK by Israel.
2/ it made for Massive Theater - a very effective distraction for the US and the world.
3/ while this distraction was occurring, Israel was stealing nuclear materials from the US.
4/ also while this distraction was occurring, Israel was massively expanding their territory.
5/ many of the "neocons" - Israeli-firsters - led the anti-war movement in the 60's ... then got some sort of "religion" and adopted a NEW position ("let's invade the Mid-East, instead of SE Asia) that also favored Israel.

The Dirty fucking Hippies were pawns that just wanted to get high and get laid. They expressed these desires through a herd mentality led by subversive leadership bending their minds. I spent plenty of time both on and off the UC Berkeley campus in the 1960's and from what I saw it was more about getting your hands on some good Colombian and expressing compassion as a mating call to have sex and cocaine with cute 20-year old blonds from Connecticut. The majority of those people at that age were totally incapable of understanding the nuance of what was going on and why. Had any of them been forced to act alone without peer support and explain their motivations the movement would have shattered like untempered glass. Today I know several of those people who grew up from their fad protesting back in the day to become the same greedy malcontents they were bitching about five decades ago.

First, let me preface this little rant with a personal historical fact.
Give the dirty fucking Hippies a break already.
There was a draft going on. Young boys were being forcefully conscripted into fighting and dying in a despicable, immoral war.
That is the basis of the dirty fucking hippie movement.
I had my ass beat shortly after the Kent State debacle, of which a number of those dirty fucking hippies were quite literally shot and killed by pigs,... for protesting the Vietnam War by local Sheriffs deputy's in uniform. I mean driven out to an orange grove in the back of a cruiser and beat bloody, two ribs broken by pigs who didn't like that I was "spitting on authority" by joining a local small town protest out in the sticks here in the USSA.
So, while superficially, the dirty fucking hippies were partying in the streets, smoking the ganja and hoping to bang cute little hippie chicks, a real deal was really going on. Real risk. Real danger.
Many of those kids in Berkley were draft dodgers. They were outlaws, criminals by choice, who congregated to those urban campus areas for social support, because out here in the hinterland a draft dodger was nothing but a criminal who your neighbors were encouraged to rat out. And they did.
These kids really were treated like freaks by society, so maybe they went a little overboard, but they were searching for truth in a land that wanted them to go die in a fucking swamp.
Many of them were dirty because they were living homeless in the streets, unable to take legitimate jobs because if they did the fucking authorities would take them away to prison and/or to be gun fodder in a war they knew was corrupt.
They were broke, desperate and angry, so they used their ratty hair and dirty clothes and flaunted them like flags. Something to be proud of.
Rich kids got to go to University to hide from the draft, but many of the poorer kids were clinging on for survival and they should not be trivialized.
Those young men and the young girls who stood with them were the last ones in the US to actually take a stand against the emerging Police State. Many of them were truly brave and principled and payed with their blood and spirit, so that today they are almost unanimously made out to have been spoiled spineless drug addled losers.
We did not have Internet in those days and the dirty fucking hippies were the last ones to be watching tv. What we had were underground newspapers, flyers and word of mouth.
Books that were considered inflammatory or anti-establishment were promptly banned.
The entrenched powers were the ones who promoted the sex, drugs and rock and roll as a subterfuge to destroy the real movement. That much I agree with...
To this day, the dirty fucking hippies get shit on... when what they were in actuality, were the losers in a war against the entrenched powers.
And one more thing while I'm in a rant mood.
The dirty fucking Hippies didn't all just flame out in a lazy nihilistic air conditioned consumer orgasm at the mall.
They went on to create many organic alternative small scale industries. They conceptually started up perma-culture, and many of the non incorporated raw milk type home market farms which are still under attack today.
So, the dirty fucking hippies WERE right.

I don't always agree with Santa but I think you nailed it.
Those dirty hippies are many of the small local growers and many were the first to ring the alarm on the poor farming practices of modern monoculture and also the harmful effects of big pharma.

Both of my parents were "dirty fucking hippies" (actually Beatnicks, who later became hippies), and I'll tell you that the truth is somewhere between what Santa posted and what mrnhtbr2232 posted. A lot of the people my parents knew (who I met and talked to while growing up) were genuinely socially concious, aware of "The Establishment" industrial/military/police complex and actively opposed to it. I also met a lot of "party people" who just wanted to take drugs, play music, and hump as many hairy hippy chicks as they could talk into bed, preferably at the same time.
It's never truly black and white...

What? Aren't you afraid you'll be stigmatized and labelled a troll? Lol
Oh wait, you haven't thanked me. I guess you're still in the clear... ;)
