The general rule to keep in mind is that you want to focus on foods that contain more protein and fats and less carbs.
Despite what common wisdom claims, eatings fats doesn't make you fat, as long as they are natural fats, and not trans-fats. In fact. natural fats help keep you lean. Our bodies were evolved to metabolize natural fats readily.
And together with rich protein sources, natural fats also help your body manufacture more testosterone hormone.
Foods that Boost Testosterone
Having given you the general rule to follow in selecting foods, good specific choices for foods that increase testosterone would include:
Beef -- Yep, enjoy that juicy steak, and don't trim off the fat on the edges either.
Chicken and Eggs -- Both are great sources of protein. And make sure you don't throw out the egg yolks as many folks do.
The yolks are loaded with important vitamins like B1 and B2 and nutrients like lutein which maintain healthy eyes. But, they are also a good source for cholesterol, which -- believe it or not -- testosterone is produced from.
And by the way, egg yolks will not appreciably raise your cholesterol levels either. In fact, almost 90% of your body's cholesterol is manufactured by your Liver, not from the foods you eat.
Seafood -- Especially Oysters. Seafood is high in protein, contains basically no carbs, and oysters in particular are loaded with the mineral zinc. Zinc has many functions in the body and just a couple of those are aiding in muscle manufacture and increased testosterone levels.
Vegetables and Herbs to Boost Testosterone Hormone
Believe it or not, there are also solid non-meat sources that should top your list of the foods that boost testosterone.
Just a couple of these are broccoli and cabbage, and both for the same reason -- that is, because they contain something called Indole-3-carbinol.
Indole-3-carbinol, in simple terms, helps to reduce estrogen. Estogen is the hormone that females produce more of (just like men produce more testosterone). However, men also naturally produce some estrogen.
If you have too much estrogen, it can result in more fat and less muscle, which is all bad for testosterone production.
Garlic is a wonderful herb that contains a potent active ingredient called allicin that helps to increase testosterone.
For a double whammy effect, slice fresh garlic thinly, then crisp lightly in a pan with a bit of butter or olive oil; finally, crack some eggs in the pan for garlic sunny side eggs. Delicious!
This is one of the editor's favorite food that increases testosterone, which he regularly eats for breakfast and helps keep his energy, vitality, and testosterone levels at peak levels.

A little birdie told me (OK, it was Mrs. BT) that you're off to a very good start on this. Try adding L-Arginine and DHEA to your supplement regimen. I'd be interested in knowing the source of this specific info?

I'm glad I'm not the only one! I've almost drove myself to the emergency room a couple of times due to the funk I was making... frightening.

It's a compilation of things I knew already and from research.
I was serious about weight training 20 + years ago. At that time I was carb loading, taking amino acids and eating lots of beef, broccoli and bananas.
I think Broccoli is a super food...that makes you fart.

I was doing the same thing at exactly the same time. Twin Labs Amino Fuel was one of my favorite supplements.
Tuna, tomatoes, and wheat toast was one of my favorite meals. The only thing was that I was avoiding fat, because I was under the false impression (as the majority still are) that fat makes you fat.
It cracks me up that folks still think things like avocados and coconut oil are bad because of the fat content. Those people need to quit clicking on the diet links on Yahoo.

Don't forget to buy a 3,000 gauss magnet 4" x 6" x 1" and let your balls rest on it while driving.
Works wonders.
(Make sure you put the N end up or it will convert you to a eunuch instead)

Did you just make that up?
Nope. Been doing it for several years.
I suppose if girls tried it then they would have fewer problems with ovarian cancer (still N up ... S is acid forming)

Well done! You know your T. Making kimchi or sauerkraut makes the cabbage easier to eat. Environment also affects T to a great degree. Dangerous or competitive environments especially.

Amen to that.
EE, great post. Regarding exercises that increase T levels. Compound lifts...compound lifts, and say that again.
Do your deads, squats, bench. Compound lifts stimulate your CNS, they cause your body to GROW. People think squats are a leg exercise, that is wrong. It's a full body exercise. Show me a guy who can squat 400 pounds who has small arms....when you squat heavy weigh, it's a cardo workout as well. Do a set, feels like you've sprinted the 100 yards.
Heavy weights in the gym, compound lifts, lot's of zinc and protein. You'll grow. If I can only follow my own advise...:)

hey,
not to knock this thread topic, but most of the natural ways to boost testosterone are minimal at best in effect...
Ximmy listed a legit way, find a cool doc, and just ask nicely for a script
also, the main thing that i have found is that receptor site burnout is a main culprit
in this case androgen receptors, see, once your receptor sites are burned out, then the same testosterone levels produce less of an effect....
similar to what type 2 diabetics experience, they have tons of insulin, but it produces no effect, their receptor sites are burned out (insulin receptor sites)
Raising glutathione levels will increase receptor site sensitivity, for all receptor sites....

I'd say your testosterone levels will increase when you leave Africa?
Then again, what an adventure!

There was a time I wanted to get big, 20 + years ago. Today I want to be in good shape and have good health. I do want muscle gain, but this is more about fighting the decline of testosterone as we age and being the best we can be naturally.
I think what I posted in the OP is all good advice for anyone looking to improve themself.
If there are opinions to the contrary, feel free to add your knowledge or advice.

One of our sons has Klinefelters Syndrome and has to take the Axiron. They told him it would cost $280 per month but for the first year they had a deal for $25 per month. His wife says this cream is so much better than the shots because his moods stay more balanced than the shots. I guess the shots make him feel so good right when he gets it and then within 3 weeks he is very down.
I appreciate the information on this thread cause I am always looking for information that could be helpful in making his life even more normal. I am thinking some diet changes suggested here could be helpful for him if he will do it...

EE, it sounds to me like you've pretty much got it figured out.
I've spent enough time at the gym to realize there is no magic potion or food that will perform miracles. More a large combination of alot of little things.
The hard part is actually sticking to it.

I Couldn't Be More Positive
Serving as his own lab rat, an amateur bike racer spent a year taking supplemental testosterone—rumored to be a peloton favorite—to find out if it could transform an average Joe. His conclusion? No doubt about it.

Just to add to this, 4 Brazil nuts taken a few hours before sex are supposed to help. Myself, I do find that eating Brazil nuts each day seems to increase libido. Apple Cider Vinegar (with the "mother") is claimed by some to also help in this.
