View Full Version : vit. supplements: better with meals, or empty stomach?

My intuition says, take with meals, coz upon the arrival of food in your stomach, the pancreas supplies a load of digestive enzymes to begin the digestive process. If you just take a supplement pill or two, washed down with water, otherwise empty stomach- stomach may not even recognize there's real food there (IE pill).

Any reflections on this?

With meals for me, they seem to absorb better (based on my pee color) and they don't upset my stomach. Make sure you get food based multi vitamins too.

Check the label of the supplements you're taking - some are best with meals - some are recommended taken between meals.

vitamins like D3 are best with light meals... foods that have some fat. As D3 is fat soluble... as are A, E & K
