In addition to helping your body generate energy and keeping your thinking sharp and clear, vitamin B12 is essential for a strong immune system.

B12 is crucial for the formation of red and white blood cells, which help boost your immune function.

Problem is, as many as 1 out of 4 people are deficient in B12. Especially vulnerable are people over age 50, people who take acid reducers, vegetarians and people who have Crohn's, colitis or IBS.

And even if you eat foods that are rich in B12 or take oral supplements, B12 is not easily absorbed through the GI tract...so chances are good you're getting far less than what you think and what you need.

The easiest way to make sure you have enough is to supplement with a form of B12 that absorbs in your mouth, not your stomach...

Like Hydroxaden 2.5 B12 nano spray (http://www.bluerockholistics.com/product/hydroxaden.asp).

Hydroxaden 2.5 (http://www.bluerockholistics.com/product/hydroxaden.asp) is an easy to use form of B12. Just 5 sprays under your tongue gives you a full 2.5 mg of B12, comprised of two of the best forms--hydroxocobalamin (which raises your B12 level faster than other forms) and adenosylcobalamin (the form of B12 most used by your brain). Penned by health advocate, Sheri Brescia

Thanks. Looking forward to learning more about the B12 options and sources out there

I used to take B12 shots, at home (no chiropractor), but I decided they're too expensive. I should clarify - the ones without cyanide are expensive (methylcobalamin). The ones with cyanide (cyanocobalamin) are way less expensive, but, you know . . . they have cyanide in them.

Now I take B12 in a sublingual melt-away sort of pill, at least twice a day.

I guess a tablespoon or 2 of ground flax seed a day,

divided doses

and if you take vitamin K2, you can safely megadose vitamin D, and that is a real biggie, 90% plus of the population is vitamin D deficient

kind of a minimum dose for vitamin D is 1,000 i.u.s of vitamin D for every 25 lbs bodyweight, and that is a minimum

I don't consider Vitamin B-12 as something that's essential and I think its overrated since its energy boosting effects. I do take Vitamin B Complex here and there to keep up on it just in case. I don't think Vitamin B-12 is important enough to take on its own anymore. I think Vitamin B-12 is best for quick energy, but it actually doesn't work for me. It used to give me energy, but now when I take it it makes me tired. The same thing happens to me with caffeine. I have no idea why.

The most important Vitamins are fat-soluble Vitamins A, D, and K2. I get these by eating offal and drinking raw milk. If you don't want to do that take Cod Liver Oil. I drink raw milk, consume nattō (good source of K2), eat liver and take cod liver oil daily.

If you're interested in Cod Liver Oil, use one of the brands listed below (I'm quoting the Weston A. Price Foundation):
