Went to a new eye doc for an updated exam. They have newer technology now that is sooo cool. Didn't need the 'drops' for dilating the eyes, but he had a superbright tool to look at the optical nerve (which was new to me), looking for any signs of tiny holes, tears, pressure, etc. Anyway, 1 of the things he mentioned, was some cholesterol he could see! He said they only way to know if it's an issue or not is via a blood draw. Talk about amazing!
Anyonw else experience this new tech yet?

yes. It's impressive stuff. The internal eye imagery is amazing these days. They can tell just about anything about you from looking into your eyes. They can tell diabetes, heart disease, misaligned spine (if they know what they are looking for), cranial blood pressure, glaucoma, sexual health. It's all there.
Not all opto's are the same though. Many don't have this new tech yet or they don't know how to use it. Sometimes buy 1 get 1 free is not the best deal if you don't get the best diagnosis.

I needed to take a kid last spring for an exam, the regular place was booked out ~ 4 weeks & I couldn't wait that long, so I tried Costco (in the next day). That experience was so great, that's where I went today. I'm very impressed!! Their frame selection didn't have anything I cared for, but wow, that exam!! And NO DROPS! woot!!
