AMERICANS ARE SO STUPID YOU CAN SPIT IN THEIR FACE AND THEN CONVINCE THEM IT IS DEW!"

Nikita Kruschev.

Dr. Alan Sabrosky of the University of Michigan analyzes how Iran is being demonized to the American people to condition them to applaud when war is waged against that country. Included in this analysis is the fact that the US has re-defined Weapons of Mass Destruction to include backpack bombs such as used at the Boston Marathon. That means, from now on, war can be justified at any time with any country on the claim that it is to prevent the use of WMDs – and the public will be grateful. AlanSabrosky 25 April 2013

Alan Sabrosky : Clearing the Decks for War with Iran

The waging of preventive war is a war crime under international law, as is endorsing or assisting in the waging of preventive war….

Four interesting developments have taken place recently:

One is that the US is selling (i.e., giving) Israel tanker aircraft to allow it to refuel its strike aircraft no matter what the US does. The inability of Israel to conduct a strike against Iran without US in-flight refueling support (if nothing else) has been the principal US military barrier against a unilateral Israeli attack — unless, of course, the Israelis wanted to lose all of their strike aircraft and many of their pilots when they ran out of fuel after the attack. Giving them an independent in-flight refueling capability eliminates that barrier and clears the way for a unilateral Israeli attack, once the planes are delivered and the Israeli crews trained – and I have no idea about that time frame.

Two is the US decision to classify the backpack bombs used in Boston (assuming they really were used) as WMDs (yes, no joke). Now, the smallest bomb dropped by the smallest combat aircraft in the world is more destructive than those backpack bombs. So I suspect the US Government, having been more than slightly embarrassed by the lack of real WMDs in Iraq and its inability to find them in Iran, is now redefining what constitutes a WMD so it can go to war against anyone, anywhere, anytime in the name of opposing WMDs, and the American sheeple will applaud.

Three is that the alleged foiled plot to derail trains between the US and Canada is being publicly and explicitly linked to a terrorist cell with direct ties to Iran. Why Iran would have wanted to have anything to do with such a hair-brained scheme is not being asked, or even addressed. War drums, anyone?

And four, the US Defense Secretary of whom so many of us hoped so much, has made it clear that he is no different from his predecessor, and on his trip to Israel has given what is effectively a "green light" for Israel to attack Iran whenever it chooses to do so, with full and complete US support. His comment to reporters on the plane to Israel makes this clear: “Israel will make the decision that Israel must make to protect itself, to defend itself,” Hagel said as he began a weeklong tour of the Middle East. Interesting that attacking another country has become a bizarre form of self-defense. Of course, the waging of preventive war is a war crime under international law, as is endorsing or assisting in the waging of preventive war….

I recall that the Saturday Night Live skit on the Hagel hearings that was pulled after its dress rehearsal had McCain asking Hagel if he would fellate a donkey if Netanyahu felt that was necessary for Israel's security. In the skit, Hagel says "I don't think so."

Obviously he changed his mind — donkeys in place of golden asses, anyone?
