Anyone have any thoughts on this?

What about collecting?

Are some guns just too valuable to shoot?

More and more i'm starting to look at my firearms as one hell of a damn good investment.

No such thing as "too many guns".

Just a few firearms at the Bug Out Locations. Have another safe at my primary location and several burial tubes and monovaults stashed and cached across four western states. I can always use more firearms tho.

By no means are these all of them of course. These are at one of my other "Bug Out Locations" (BOL).

Maybe twice as many more that are cached and stashed in burial tubes and monovaults across several states. As I invest in hardassets as well as income producing stocks, royalty trusts and master limited partnerships. I reinvest the proceeds into precious metals, firearms, ammo, long term nonperishable food and basic necessities. Firearms and ammo have outperformed precious metals in the last few years and that's saying alot as PMs have done extremely well over the last decade or so.

Ha, Black Blade has buckets of pistols the way most people have bowls of jelly beans!

I would like to hear what motivates people to own lots and lots of guns, say, more than a dozen or so. I understand the logic that they will become increasingly difficult to acquire, so get 'em while you can. But once you have a personal supply of what you might actually use, say a couple of handguns in a few different calibers, a few long guns (perhaps of different caliber, a couple of shotguns, etc.) it seems like you'd be all set. It's not like they are consumables; they last a long time. Is the intent to be able to provide for others in the future, in the event that they become generally unavailable? I'm not being critical, I'm just curious.

I've bought five rifles and two handguns this year. Mostly to provide for others. I've definately been bitten by the bug though. Every one has new sights, stocks, and trigger groups. I've only run 20 rounds through the latest rifle and I'm already looking at other stuff.

Rifle and Shotgun Sales Spike as Californians Prepare for 2014 Law
Sarah Jean Seman | Dec 28, 2013

Many Californians are buying rifles and shotguns in preparation for the long gun registry law set to take effect January 1st. The legislation will require long gun owners to register the make, model and serial number of their weapon.

Gun sales have risen 30 to 50 percent in the last week of 2013, according to CBS Sacramento. Just Guns owner John Deaser called the law an unnecessary invasion of privacy, despite his recent profit increase:

Previously dealers would destroy personal information on long gun owners after a background check had been completed. Now they’ll register those purchases with the state.

Supporters of the new law say it will improve public safety and keep guns out of the wrong hands.

Deaser says many of his customers are stocking up on long guns now rather than waiting until 2014 when they would have to register.

“These are law-abiding citizens,” he said. “They’re not trying to beat the system or anything like that. They just don’t want to be tracked.”

Avid hunter Jason Gudgel bought a shotgun for his son on Thursday, but he says it has nothing to do with the new law. He says the timing is because of the holidays.

In 2011, Gov. Jerry Brown (D) signed Assembly Bill 809 into law. According to Brown’s statement:

Anytime someone purchases a firearm in California, whether a long gun or handgun, their personal information is sent to the Department of Justice for a criminal background check. While purchaser information on handguns is retained, purchaser information on long guns is destroyed.

Since the state already retains handgun purchaser information, I see no reason why the state should not also retain information pertaining to the sales of long guns.

The National Rifle Association claimed the bill violates the Second Amendment and will waste an estimated $400,000 in state taxpayer money.

it's like collecting anything i guess. for example, i have 7 nib beretta neo's, none ever fired. i certainly don't need that many of them, but i like them, and at $279 or less i keep buying them. same with pocket pistols, i have probably close to 20, only ever carry one. disease i guess.

Over the years I've had to rent a table at a gun show three times to get rid of firearms I was tired of. Never really quit buying though. Desires/ interests/needs change.

Great rifles for a good price.

Do you plan on converting one of them to full AK configuration, or to take AK mags?

These guys have all the parts

Well, I'm still in CA and don't want to install a bullet buttons so for now they remain in their stock forms although I'm looking for the original wood furniture. I have done the ak mag conversions as I have several I bought in the late 80s. I'm going to get Mojo rear peeps too. I like this rifle enough that I'm on the hunt for one in .308.

BTW. Thanks for the heads up on CAs rifle regiztration law
