I think most of us here are on the lookout for something that will tip our financial system out of balance. I'm starting to think that this credit card security issue might have an important role in this direction. It is so central to our global commerce system, and it's such a big part of our "faith" in the financial system. These are very visible signs of cracks in the system and the cracks seem to be spreading, rather than it be an isolated event.
Make fun of FRNs all you want, but make sure you have a few on hand.
I think this cyber security issue is significant enough to bump up the Revolving Credit component of the SHTF Index. (http://gold-silver.us/forum/showthread.php?57766-Suggestions-for-a-SHTF-Index/page2&highlight=shtf+index)
