Oil pulling for health! Excellent article. Cebu, hope you read this...doesn't say it can fix a cracked tooth, but who know, may help. I'm starting this up with coconut oil, pulling right now actually...be sure to read the testimonials at the end of the article.
“Oil pulling” is an ancient practice in Asia, but suddenly it is catching on in the United States. It involves swishing an oil around in your mouth (coconut oil is the most common one) for dental and other health benefits.
Mainstream media outlets here in the U.S. are now reporting on oil pulling benefits, and even interviewing dentists who are giving positive reviews based on their patients’ experiences. Here are some examples:

I do it on occasion, just make sure to spit the oil out when you're done, don't swallow it as it's full of all your nasty mouth germs.

I figure it must do something because of all the testimonials. As far as removing the toxins from your blood through the sublingual route; what a bunch of bullshit.

Lot's of hard to believe testimonials. One about a 90 year old grandmother who cured arthritis by oil pulling.
For the past week my digestive system has been wrecked from taking antibiotics. I've missed 7 days of work, so have been online a bit researching how to get my stomach back on tract.
I started 3 things yesterday. Oil pulling, taking probiotics, and iodine. Not sure which one seems to be working, but I feel a lot better today. 2 more days on the antibiotics. I feel well enough to hit the gym and am dying for some exercise.
I will say this about oil pulling, your teeth feel extremely clean and great afterwards. I'll probably keep going with it for awhile for that reason alone.

I have a significant other that does it. Only good things to say about it.

Well, I have heard about this and thanks for providing this article which I will now read.
I have a specific tooth problem and I have been to a regular dentist once and an endodontist twice over the last two years and they seem inept and incapable to diagnose and treat the problem.
I have a tooth on top on side toward front. I keep getting little red swollen place on gums over this tooth. There is a place there that stays sensitive and funny feeling all the time, but get a red swollen place about every 6 months. Endo Doc says there is no pus and she says to just leave it alone. Does not see anything weird on xrays and said I probably just bruised my gums and I should just wait patiently and it should go away over time. This problem has been going on for three years at least so I feel like I need to do something. I had had a root canal about twenty years ago on this tooth and also unrelated fancy apico-ectomy work on that side top in my bones / gum.
I'm afraid there is some low-grade infection going on in those old roots that were supposed to have been sealed off by the root canal but have now worn through. I also have come to the conclusion that the dentists cannot tell from xrays if there is a low grade infection or not. I think they can only tell if there is some big raging infection by xrays. Infection is in soft tissue, not bones so I just do not think dentists can pick up on a slow low-grade infection. But I know it is not good for it to keep flaring up now and then and my lymph nodes on the side of my neck getting swollen and staying swollen for a long time.
I am going to try the oil pulling frequently for one month in hopes that this will solve my problem. Will report back here if anyone is interested and I remember.
My only other sure file solution is to just go and have the tooth pulled even though no dentist is recommending that at this time.
When I told the endodontist female dentist that I would never re-do a root canal on that tooth and I would rather just have it pulled, she said 'well, how about an implant' meaning having a tooth implanted, and I said no I would just not smile too big and the big blank space would not show. I think she got the idea that I was not in favor of root canals anymore, and that is certainly true.
She then asked me what was being said against root canals, an endodontist's stock in trade, and I said 'you know what they say' and she quieted down. They say that you can end up some low grade infection that nobody can diagnose and you may not have any symptoms but it can get in your blood and circulate throughout your body and cause all kind or problems for your health. I think that may be what I have going on.
I have always heard about this oil pulling, but I consider it for teeth problems only.
As I have related here, dentists will never admit it but they just cannot locate and properly diagnose when there is an insidious low-grade infection going on in your teeth no matter how many xrays they take. I thought about going to a new endodontist but I know they will automatically want to take a bunch of more xrays and I do not want anymore xrays at this point. All their solutions seem to be offers for some new expensive dental procedure. They are supposed to be about helping you preserve your teeth but I think they would just as soon do an expensive unnecessary procedure.
In a way, all forms of dentistry are looking no better than a bad vet to me these days.
