CDC: 110 Million Americans Have STDs At Any Given Time

Nearly 20 million cases of a sexually transmitted disease infection are reported each year in the United States and the number could be higher because many sufferers don't show symptoms. (Photo by Sandy Huffaker/Getty Images)

ATLANTA (CBS Atlanta) – While the national media focus on the Ebola outbreak in West Africa and the patient in Dallas, the CDC is reminding Americans that sexually transmitted diseases are an ongoing but hidden epidemic.

In the United States, nearly 20 million cases of new STD infections are reported each year, reports Live Science. Since infections can persist for a long time, and because some victims are not even aware they have a disease and can easily spread it to others.

Based on data from 2008, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the eight most common sexually transmitted diseases are: chlamydia, gonorrhea, hepatitis B virus (HBV), genital herpes, HIV, human papillomavirus (HPV), syphilis and trichomoniasis.

About 50.5 million current infections are in men while 59.5 million are in women, for a total of 110 million Americans with STDs at any given time.

Fifty percent of new infections occur in young people from ages 15-24 and gonorrhea is the most commonly reported STD in that age group.

Gonorrhea is the second most commonly reported STD in the United States.

The most commonly reported infection is chlamydia. But since many who are infected don’t show symptoms, the number could be far higher than the 1.4 million in 2012, a rate of 457 cases per 100,000 people.

New infections with HIV and hepatitis B occur in less than 50,000 people each year.

New cases of STDs cost nearly $16 billion a year in direct medical costs, according to the CDC.

Maybe we should start considering the ancient White thing...monogamy?

Before Christianity, the Germanic peoples married once, for life. After Christianity, it was easy to follow that.

Monogamy remained the ideal up into the 20th Century.

But Talmudvision, in particular, taught the Goyim that monogamy is for suckers.

Well then, enjoy your diseases.

With the Liberal agenda of homosexuality, perversion and promiscuity being pushed in US schools, I wonder if these statistics are being shown to the children? My guess would be no.

It goes further than just monogamy. You can have monogamy, but still have a high number of sexual partners. You are not single, but any of the single guys out there knows this, good luck finding any woman who hasn't slept around with a bunch of dudes.

Furthermore, I think women expect guys to have had a high number of partners in the past, and they question your character if you "take things slow" I learned this one recently. Gal I was seeing asked me how many women I've slept with, I gave her a vague answer. I then made mistake #1, I asked her how many guys she's been with. Her answer? "many, both men and women". I was not expecting that answer and then proceeded to mistake #2, I told her how many women I've been with. Her response? "we've slept with the same amount of women" with a laugh. I changed the subject after that.

The point is just don't ask or tell. It is what it is.

You need to get set up with a legitimate partnering site, like e-harmony or similar. Get paired with some girls that share at least some of your values, before you waste any time with them. If you want to be a one-woman man and expect a one-man woman, indicate that during your search - it's completely reasonable.

Of course, you can't re-virginize anyone, but monogamy can (re-)start at any time. Some people finally realize their "lifestyle" is not only an affront to God and goodness, but is personally dangerous, both from the standpoint of disease and "connecting" with lower forms of life that might physically harm them. Not all American girls are sluts, or at least any more.

Good luck with dating sites, most are either obese, psycho or gold diggers. They don't want a regular guy that wants to settle down. I met a few and wow what a scene. Some want a free expensive meal with no strings attached. Others use old pictures when they actually did look okay and when I realized what was going on I would go to the rest room... totally bail on them. The good looking and sounding ones are there for a reason, think about that.

I'm sitting on the sidelines for now, and enjoying the peace that God and nature have to offer.

However, I don't believe, for a man searching for a mate to indicate monogamy is a good idea. You basically get the exact opposite of what you search for. If being a one -woman man, I ask for a one-man woman, I'll get a bunch of sex crazed whores. If I ask for a bunch of whores...I'll stumble across a decent woman.

Funny how it works that way.

A woman that has been divorced or has a child is the same as ebola. Stay the fuck away from me, and keep it in Africa.

It doesn't matter why, or if the kids "could be" yours? Not only Niggers & Wiggers are divorcees with kids.

I really think you should consider something like e-harmony. Yes, it costs money. However, the higher-priced plans weed out most of the trash, and, they verify identity, so you don't have wackos claiming to be someone they're not.

You only need one good woman. Think of her as an investment far beyond even a pile of gold bullion.

You know crimethink, you drop some bombs when it comes to contemplating things.

I agree with you. One good woman is all that we could ever ask for. However, I believe it's not in God's plan for some of us to partner up. I don't mind being single, and I have honest and good intentions with every gal I date. If I come across a good woman, who's compatible with me, I'll know at this point and won't waste any time.

There's a calming feeling though, of being single, free, and watching the world go by.

If true, then we better presume that Ebola is transmissable for far longer than admitted in every other way, as well.
