besides the various HI missile/no missile theories, there's speculation based on Q crumb interpretations that, whether or not there was a real missile, the warning triggered an NSA "BDT" or Bulk Data Transfer from their HI storage facilities over to con-US facility(s); and that something about this BDT enabled the data to be possessed by the white hat spooks. So theory goes: that NSA BDT was the underlying motive for whatever really did/didn't happen physically re a HI missile threat.
