These 'misspeaks' could have a separate thread (see #1591 and #1592 from a few days back, amongst others).
Reuters: 60% of people*[with Covid-19] being admitted to UK hospitals are unvaccinated - adviser
Correcting Reuter's misinformation:July 19, 2021
Britain's Chief Scientific Adviser Patrick Vallance said that 60% of people being admitted to hospital with COVID-19 are unvaccinated, correcting an earlier statement he made on Monday...
"Correcting a statistic I gave at the press conference," Vallance said on Twitter. "About 60% of hospitalizations from** COVID are not from double vaccinated people, rather 60% of hospitalisations from COVID are currently from unvaccinated people."
*Hospitilation Data only of people who also had Covid-19
**Patrick said "with Covid" not 'from Covid' at the original press conference. 'From' Covid numbers would be expected to be lower.
Google 'world in data' that is atop any search results for Percent of UK population fully vaccinated: 54.2% From July 17, google's World in data.
The top ranked BBC article from the search (from July 20) says "So far, more than 46 million people have had a first vaccine dose - almost 90% of the adult population - and more than 36 million - around two-thirds of adults - have had both doses."
There is a 1:18 video clip of him 'misspeaking', interesting that he makes the same mistake TWICE both at the beginning of the video and again at 1:04 in the video. As well it took two hours after 'misspeaking' to send out a tweet correcting the information he gave at the news conference:

"An absolutely bizarre "error" considering that you went on to explain exactly why the 60% figure was so high. This is all very odd and suspicious"
