Everyone is responsible for their own actions. And it doesn't make any difference if the action was based on faulty information and/or lies 'cause you are responsible for separating truth from illusion. That is if you are an adult. Children and elderly are a different matter entirely. In their case Munchausen by Proxy is a FELONY.
