It has been a long while for me since I took a full week off from work. I think the last time that I took vacation time for a full week from work was sometime in 2007.

Sadly it wasn't a full week, only 5 days. Better than nothing! It has also been years for me since I've had a full week off.

I am very excited about a vacation I've booked to Chile for February. I can't wait! Will be looking at some land while down there.

Really? That's all I have to do? I wish I would have thought of that. :D :D :D

On a serious note, I cannot do that because I do not want to get in a crazy bidding war with another ebay buyer. I cannot afford to get in a bidding war with another ebay buyer since I am on a budget. As much as I love '70's silver art bars, I do not want one that bad on ebay. I am not willing to win a '70's silver art bar auction at any cost. I guess I am also too cheap to get into a bidding war on ebay. In the end it will not matter because I usually buy most of my '70's silver art bar locally for a low premium over spot if my local dealer has any that are interesting to me or any art bars that are on my "wish list".

Good morning GSUS community. :)

Yep. I am glad it is Friday. I am looking forward to this Labor day weekend. If the Tennessee Vols football team is on TV this Saturday, then I will watch them easily defeat UT-Martin. I plan to continue to read more of Stephen King's novel called "Under The Dome". I will also take another look at my silver art bar price guide to look at and study more '70's silver art bars. I do not have to go to work on Monday but I am not sure what I will do on that Monday. I will think of something.

I guess I am just a poor man Zionist. :D I figured if someone was going to go through all of the trouble of "fingering" me as a Zionist, then the least they could do is to give me some FRNs to play with in order to make me appear like I am a rich and powerful Zionist banker. ;D

Well the bomber scannners can try to scannn me all they want but they can NEVER scannn me. Even if they use the computer networks to scannn people, they still cannot scannn me because I am scannn-proof.

Once I became scannn-proof on GIM1 (R.I.P.), then that transferred over to GSUS and therefore I am scannn-proof on GSUS. Once scannn-proof ALWAYS scannn-proof. ;D

I saw a car the other day completely painted in red glitter. Was amazing to see. It brought a smile to my dial. had one of those noisy hot dog mufflers so you couldn't miss it. Haven't seen any unicorns yet although I think the British royal family may have had some at one point. Been to the end of a rainbow but didn't find a pot of gold. Was a long time ago so maybe things have changed. My sunflowers are growing taller and stronger. Soon their happy faces will be pointing to the sun as it crosses the sky. I know everyone likes sun flowers because young men stop to pinch them and give them to their sweethearts and old ladies stop and tell me how much they love them.

Disappointed your pumpkins aren't growing. They are usually an out of control crop. Been many many years snce I grew any and we had them coming out of our ears, as they say. I did have trouble with watermelons which in my experience are the same kind of grower. If one grows well the other will. I don't know what they need though. My recollection is just good soil, lots of organic matter in it and fairly good drainage. Either raised or sloped bed so they drain well. Type could have something to do with it. I don't know what you have there but I found butternut types (apparently thats a type of squash to most people) a lot harder to grow than say iron bark which are the more jacko latern style of pumpkin.

Sunflowers just grow. Good draining soil, a daily water and they will be putting on several inches per day. I spread some seeds on top of a brick fence pillar for the birds (bout a foot square pillar) and a couple fell in the cracks and have started growing. Nothing for them to feed on so they are very stunted but shows they grow anywhere. I like them because the flowers follow the sun during the day. They literally turn their heads as the sun moves across the sky. And they are bright and cheerful. Seeds also. They make a lotta lotta seeds.

Growing up I knew one fat kid and one kid with alergies. And we didn't have a resource room, yet everybody passed because they knew if they didn't, dad was gonna kick their ass. All the kids in school had a label.....cool, sissy, fag*ot, hottie, dweeb or loser and they were given by our peers. I guess it's the same today, except the labels are acronyms and they are given by our social workers. Pop tarts and similar treats were just that, treats. 2 cases of pop a year.....Pop Shoppe at Christmas. Segueys did not exist...people walked. Mom and dad were not afraid of me being abducted, we walked freely wherever we wanted. Sometimes with guns. People kept an ashtray or two around the house in case a smoker dropped by. The village raised all of us kids, if we got out of line, an ass kicking was in order.....it didn't really matter who the foot belonged to. Mr. and Mrs.........those are terms I have not heard for a long while. When we got into trouble, the cops would drive us home..........and drop us off a block from our house. We had one tv, black and white, with rabbit ears and 2 channels... no cell phones, Ipods, blackberrys or xboxes, but we knew how to be alone with our thoughts. I have never been to Disneyland, but I have fished and hunted some of the most rugged terrain Ontario has to offer, which is fine with me...I much prefered my dad's company to Goofy's.

Does anybody remember this place where I used to live??

Tumbleweed had to drive me an hour and a half away to get to a dentist so that I could have a crown re-set. Painful. . . but only in the wallet. :)

Oh yeah, and my car is officially totaled. I am interested to see how much the insurance company is going to try to rip me off for.

I noticed that Maude is the only one gets to call the "dude" Jeffery, and he doesn't seem to mind...

girls get to call guys by their full names... ;)

Everybody else calls him dude or lebowski... he won't let them call him anything else... or el duderino, if your not into the brevity thing... ;D

Well ximmy if you chose to go off the deep end on this, here goes! Hear it tasts like chicken! :lol

I may if hungry look at the Iguana as a meal but not so sure of cat, unless it was the cat or starving.

http://eyeonmiami.blogspot.com/2008/11/depression-recipes-cooked-iguana-by.html

Hard times. A friend sent me this recipe our readers should keep in their clip file as you never know what might come in handy.

Iguana Stew
Yield: 4 Servings

Ingredients: 1 iguana, 1 large onion, 2 cloves garlic, 3 tomatoes, 2 green
peppers, 4 teaspoons achiote oil, 1 pinch pepper, salt to taste

Instructions: Cook iguana in salted water until the meat is tender (take
care not to let it get too soft). Cut in portions. Season with all the above
ingredients and cook with 1 cup water until almost dry.

Iguanas are not easy to catch. Some are quite a bit larger than you can fit in a pasta pot. In places like Key Biscayne they are regarded as an exotic pest. I've always wondered why public works departments don't harvest them on the morning after a hard winter freeze when they fall out the trees; lying hard a rock until the sun warms them up. Next up, for our Coconut Grove readers; peacock pesto?

Now cooked cat. I know some parts of the world do eat cat. I for one like mine as pets and not a food resource.

At the linked site it is graphic and for real.

http://www.ooze.com/ooze13/cats.html

BEER ROASTED CATDO NOT USE BEER
1 cat cut into roast
1 can of Campbell's Cream of Mushroom soup
1 cube of beef bouillon
1 clove of garlic
1 Fine Irish Stout, a lot like a popular dark Irish BeerŪ, but NOT that brand at their lawyers' request. They alledge this article, educating others in the legal eating habits of over 100 million people world-wide, and specifically in rising East Asian markets, is "highly offensive."

Scraped CatCover and soak cat roast in salt water for 24 hours. Drain water and then cover and soak in beer for 6 hours. Drain and place in crock pot with your cans of soup. Add a clove of garlic, and a cube of beef bouillon. If you start to slow cook your cat in the morning with your George Foreman Cooker (or it's ilk), you'll have finely cooked feline in time for supper.

If a slow cooker is not available, a cat can be baked at 350 degrees for 2-3 hours in a conventional oven and still come out pretty good. Beer Roasted Cat is fantastic served with mashed potatoes, collard greens, and fresh, homemade egg rolls. When planning a full meal just remember- cat is a course best served hot!

Skinned Cat Cat may not be the most glamorous, or tastiest of game meats, but with a little thought and preparation, Baked Cat can make the belly of the persnicketiest diner glow with home baked goodness.

Smart! This time of the year the weather up there can change in a microsecond and can be fatal if not prepared. Next month for sure , most people that live up there carry emergency kits with them all of the time food, tents, bags, way to stay warm if caught stranded if the weather changes .

I try my best to stay happy bellevuebully. I just live my life the way that I see fit in order to maintain my happiness level and I also just simply be myself. Those are the two main reasons that I am happy most of the time. Finding enjoyment in my hobbies also another way for me to generate my own happiness.
