Stopped by Ammo Brothers which has two stores in Southern California. They had several boxes of Remington 9mm. $399 for 500rnds. I asked about 7.62x54R. $17.00 for 25rnds mil surp. I laughed all the way back to the car.

Dear xxxxxx,
Recently you asked to be notified when an out of stock item was restocked on http://www.wideners.com (http://www.wideners.com/).
We now have FGM308M Federal Gold Metal Match (.308) 168gr HPBT $29.00 / 20 in stock at http://www.wideners.com (http://www.wideners.com/) and for sale on a first come first serve basis.
Act fast while our supplies last!
ETA- got that notification last night.
they had stock 4 hrs ago. just checked again - all gone now
Starting to see this trickle back in. A local Gander MTN had some in stock last week- they wanted 50 bux a box though.
I was able to procure some SSA 168gr HPBT MATCH from Midway last week. - 27 frn a box.
Seems like it's gradually getting better as far as supply goes.

Isn't that an outrageous price for 9 mm? $40/50 rounds, buying bulk? When it shows up on the shelf around here, I have not seen any gouging (yet).

Bump this thread.
Couldn't find anything yesterday. No pistol ammo, period. Some 30-06 rounds, 7.62x54 but didn't see the prices. Shelves were pretty bare.

I picked up some plastic cases of .22lr CCI Mini Mags today. $20 per 100 rnds. And, several boxes of Tulammo 9mm for $25 per 50 rnds. I also picked up three ten round 10/22 mags at ten bucks each. These were used but only needed to be cleaned.

Prices have gone up. Most I've spent was $10 for 100 rounds of CCI mini mags. Good score on the mags.

Bump, struck out again today. 3 different places. I've never seen the shelves in all 3 places so bare. No pistol ammo, any caliber. Just a few scattered boxes of oddball rifle ammo. I sure am glad I've got a bit saved, but there's never enough when you can't get it anymore.
Did pick up 2 very new ammo cans for $20 each.

Stopped by Bass Pro today to get Mom a Mother's Day present. The shelves were empty except for around 20 boxes of Winchester 9mm hollow points. I didn't want to be a dick so I only bought four boxes at $21.99 per 50. I also bought a Marlin 795 for my girlfriend's birthday. By the time I was finished with the paperwork, the 9mm was gone.
I also stopped by a mom n pop store to pick up my 10/22 takedown. They had no ammo.

Nice score on the 9mm. Goes to show being at the right place, at the right time, makes the difference. Hope you like the 10/22 takedown. Overall I like it. I don't like the mag release, I haven't gotten used to it and it's very particular. Also, I fired a few hundred of those colibri primer only rounds and only had 1 failure. The bullet got stuck in the barrel. The low pressure rounds you just have to cycle the action manually, but they seem to work. And, they are super quiet. The loudest part is the hammer hitting the casing. Just be careful with them as they can get stuck in the barrel. Excellent for stealth hunting which is why I bought that ammo.

My "friend" took a case of "American Eagle" to the small gun shop here in town to find out the price......the guy at the store was salivating over the case of ammo (8,000) rounds.......he wanted to give my friend .05 cents per round and them .10 and then .12 and then .16......and then.....my friend went home with his case of ammo, he only wanted to find out what really was going on.........he was smailing all the way home.

Found the right time and place at local WM , after 3 visits same time and same day of the week asked if this was normal and she admited it was . Got there at 7:45 and the boxes started opening , cci mini mag .22 lr and cci .22 short in 100 round hard plastic boxes . 2500 rounds of each. Winchester .40 , 357 , .38 , 45 , remington .9mm , .45 , tula .223 , had 20 and 12 in 00 buck shot as well ,about 10 boxes of each . Bought my 3 box limit of .22s , 2 people saw me check out at lawn and garden and asked if those were realy .22s and took off running back to sporting goods.

Went to Bass Pro today to pick up another Marlin 795. The guy that helped me originally said he'd hold onto a couple boxes of 22lr when I came to pick up the rifle. True to his word, he had two 525 rnd Remington Golden packs for 22.99. He also had for me four boxes of 100rnd Winchester Super X at 8.49 a box. Those came out of a box that was headed to the shelf but was picked clean halfway there.

there's definitely more of a shortage now, after Boston, than after Sandy Hook.
i wonder what that means -
* increased buying, post-Boston ?
* decreased supply, gun control BS crippling production ?
* DHS stepping up buying using their special monopoly money fiat FRN's, to exhaust supplies for the General Public.
i have to wonder if we are seeing the result of the Gun-Grabbers' Le Grande Plan - or if it's just because of buying by the General Public ?
or have people been finding they could make money by backing up the truck, emptying the shelves - then turning around & selling the bullets via private transactions.
that's a lot of private transactions.
something's going on, something related to 2nd Amendment re-write -
"Free to Bear Arms, But there Ain't No Bullets."
so - just use the gun as a club ?!

I stopped by a neighbor's yard sale this afternoon. He had a ton of .223, but at 60 cents a round, no one was biting. He said his boxes of .40 were gone almost immediately although I didn't ask what his price was.

I was in wallyworld earlier today. I usually stop by the gun/ammo section to see what's up.
A guy was looking at purchasing a standard Colt AR-15 M4. They had it priced at $1,059. I thought that was pretty good compared to what people were paying a few months ago.
The counter person told me some ammo is coming in...today .45 hydra-shock and 12GA ammo.

Surely you mean a dime? The cheapest I've ever seen it was 1.4 cents a round and that was 20 years ago.

My local gun shop just got a big infusion of ammo. At the same time, a friend reported a similar increase of supply in Florida.
